Public Comments
Ms. Sharon DeVliegher, who lives by EHS, addressed the Board concerning the late hours bands practice at EHS. The EHS Band practices every Monday night at the beginning of the school year. Some of these practices have been going until 9:30 p.m. The Blue Nights practice during the summer, sometimes until 10:00 p.m. Ms. DeVliegher would like to see the bands stop by 8:00 p.m. Dr. McCabe said he would look into this issue to see if there is anything that can be done.

Highlights from the Superintendent's Report
- The Mason's golf tournament is this Saturday. The District has three teams participating in the tournament.
- Dr. McCabe and Mr. Gramstorff judged the homecoming parade. The Junior class won for having the best float.
- There will be a reception for the retiring Board members at Sinclair on Tuesday, October 25, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Student Representative to the Board
The Board appointed Ms. Michelle Lee as the EHS Student Representative to the Board. Ms. Lee is a sophomore at Englewood High School.

CFAHS Science Lab-Final Plans for Bid
The Board approved submitting the CFAHS science lab plans, created by the DLR Group, to bid. Bids will come back to the Board for approval at the November 3 Board meeting. If everything goes according to plan, the science lab is expected to be complete by July, 2006.

Readopted Budget
The Board approved the Readopted Budget for the 2005-2006 Fiscal Year. By state law, the Board must approve a final budget by October 15.

CASB Delegate Assembly Resolutions
The Board discussed proposed CASB resolutions in preparation for the CASB 65th Annual Delegate Assembly. The Board agreed, by consensus, to support all the proposed resolutions except one. The Board did not support a proposed resolution that would authorize members of boards of education to receive a stipend or honorarium as compensation, when approved by the local board. Ms. Miller is representing the Board as the voting delegate at the Delegate Assembly.
