Public Comments
Ms. Harla Knapp, former Secretary to the Board, thanked Mr. Gene Turnbull, Mr. Charles Holmes, and Mrs. Mary Dounay for their work on the Board, noting that as secretary, she saw the huge commitment of time and energy put in by each Board member.
Acknowledgement of Official 2005 Election Returns from Arapahoe County
The Board approved the Official 2005 Election Returns Report from Arapahoe County.
Oaths of Office
Mrs. Dounay administered Oaths of Office to new Board members, Mr. Scott Gorsky and Ms. Heather Hunt. Because Ms. Shelley Thompson is out of town, Mr. Charles Holmes administered the Oath of Office to Ms. Shelley Thompson on November 8.
Reorganization of the Board of Education
The Board appointed new officers as follows:
- President--Ms. Karen Miller
- 1st Vice President--Mrs. Sherry Scaggiari
- 2nd Vice President--Ms. Shelley Thompson
- Secretary--Ms. Heather Hunt
- Treasurer--Mr. Scott Gorsky
Appointments of Board Representatives and/or Alternates
The Board made the following committee appointments:
- EHS Athletic Committee--Ms. Karen Miller
- Nutrition Advisory Council--Ms. Shelley Thompson
- Coordinated Health and Wellness Committee--Ms. Heather Hunt
- Englewood Education Foundation--Ms. Shelley Thompson
- City/Schools Committee--Mr. Scott Gorsky, Ms. Heather Hunt
- Library Board--Mrs. Sherry Scaggiari
- Parks and Recreation--Ms. Karen Miller
- CASB Legislative Network--Mrs. Sherry Scaggiari
- CASB Delegate--Mrs. Sherry Scaggiari
Board Approval to Restructure Board Meetings
The Board approved that, starting January 3, 2006, the first Tuesday meeting of each month will be used as a study session. The formal Board meeting will be held on the third Tuesday of each month.
