Ms. Liz Rau
Ms. Rau graduated from Stevens High School in Rapid City, SD in 1993. She then enrolled at Colorado Christian University located in Lakewood, CO. and majored in English with a minor in Biblical studies, graduating in 1998. During college she was on a scholarship for the women's soccer team in which she earned the MVP award her sophmore year. During the fall of that year, she began working for Flood as a long term substitute, at the 7th grade level, while another teacher was on maturnity leave. The teacher never returned and Ms. Rau had the pleasure of staying at Flood. In, 2001 she completed a Master's program in Curriculum Instruction and Design at Colorado Christian University. At the fall of 2001 she was re-assigned to lead the At-Risk program at Flood. She worked with local agencies that helped families in the Flood community. During this time she also took over organizing the Project WISE program. This program paired a senior citizen with a student of Flood for a journal exchange. Ms. Rau's predessessor, Roz Goldstein, had arranged for 9News to air a segment on this program. The program was filmed and aired during Ms. Rau's time in this position. 2002 was the year she was again re-assigned to the 8th grade team, where she taught Language Arts and Social Studies. Since then Ms. Rau has coached the girl's 7th grade volleyball team, 9th grade girl's basketball, the JV girl's soccer team, sponsored the Girl's Club and the geography club, helped raise twenty-five hundred dollars for a student to attend the People to People Ambassador Program sponsored by the Dwight D. Eisenhower foundation, and taught homebound students. In the fall of 2003 Ms. Rau was enrolled in the WSEPP program at the University of Denver. She has since then successfully completed the program, passed the PLACE exam, and received her state administrator's license . As for her administration experience Ms. Rau was an administrative intern under Melenie Dressman for the summer school program at Maddox Elementary in 2004. In 2005 she was hired as the principal of the same summer school program. She is currently the Dean of Students at Flood.
