Flood TSA Team
CFAHS EPYCS students were awarded the title of "Outstanding High School of the Central Denver Region" for their participation in the El Pomar Youth in Community Service program. CFAHS students awarded grants totaling $7500 to three local non-profits and one in-district program. This is the third consecutive year the CFAHS EPYCS group has been recognized by El Pomar for their dedication to this program. Julianna Miracle and Samantha Jones were also recognized as "Outstanding EPYCS Students".
EHS Choir, who received “Superior” (I) and “Excellent” II) ratings in the recent CHSAA Solo and Ensemble Contests. The following groups/soloists received a "Superior" (I) rating: ETC Ensemble, ETC Girls Ensemble and soloists: Andrea Hazzard, Allisa Luker, Janice Nuttall, Christina Nawyn, Kaley Schlimgen, Savannah Mack, Bryan Rice (piano)
The following groups/soloists received an "Excellent" (II) rating:
Sinclair Middle School Ensemble, Mixed Choir Ensemble, Men's Choir Ensemble, Select Choir Ensemble, Expressions Ensemble, Duet Bryan Rice and Ashlee Reichelt and soloists: Jorge Duran, Tristen Current, Destiny Espaze, Kelly McPhail
More Choir Successes! Expressions and ETC attended the recent UNC Greeley Jazz Festival. Expressions came away with an Excellent rating, while ETC came away with Superior ratings from both judges. Paul Miller received a special citation for excellent musicianship in his solo work. Bryan Rice and Josh Martinez were commended for their work in the rhythm section on piano and drums.
Also, congratulations to Bobby Miller, who was selected to the 2007 Colorado All-State Choir!

EHS and Flood TSA teams for their success at the recent Colorado State Technology Association State Leadership Exposition! The EHS team earned the State title. Eight EHS team members qualified to progress to the National TSA Conference, to be held in Nashville, TN, June 24-28. Flood earned second place at the middle school level,
and—for the 4th consecutive year—swept the Pin Design competition. Congratulations to team members and their advisor, Tony Raymond, Flood Middle School teacher.

CFAHS, for being specifically noted as a model school by CADI representatives as part of the recent CADI audit report.
National Forensic League Award recipients, senior, Angela Cobian and junior, Lydia Collins earned a Degree of Distinction Award from the National Forensic League.
EHS Varsity Baseball team, for making it into the State Playoffs with a record of 10-9.

FBLA Team in Vail
EHS FBLA students who won high recognition at the State Leadership Conference in Vail, held April 15-17. More than 2,400 students competed to place in the top three of their individual event or top two of their team event to qualify for Nationals. Four team members, Alycia Harper, Romeo Sianipar, Megan Stepanich, and Esperanza Trujillo, representing the Web Site Development and Accounting teams, advance to the National Leadership Conference in Chicago, IL, from June 28-July 3. Other team members recognized at State include Chase Reyes, Amber Spencer, Halsey Fritz, and Natalie Steverson.

ELA DI Team
Destination Imagination teams, representing Englewood Schools at a Regional competition on March 16 on the DU Campus. Eight teams represented Bishop, Charles Hay, ELA, and Flood. Special Congratulations to the ELA DI Team, who moved on to the State Championship, placed 1st there, and are now headed to Globals, in Knoxville, TN!

EHS Chemistry Team
EHS Chemistry and Physics students who participated in recent Chemistry and Physics bowls. The Chemistry Bowl took place at Metropolitan State College on April 13. The Chemistry team, consisting of EHS juniors Mason Engel, Chris Marshall, Brandon Pollack, and Peter Radosevich earned 1st place in this event!
The Physics Bowl took place at Colorado School of Mines on April 14. Physics team members, consisting of seniors Aaron Johnson, Kelsie Marklin, Ashlee Reichelt, and Bryan Rice took 2nd place in this event!
EHS Pirateer staff members who received the following awards:
- 1st Place - International Award, Quill and Scroll Journalism Honor Society (based on total quality of 6 issues of 2005-2006 Pirateer)
- 3rd place CHSPA Journalism Sweepstakes (equivalent to a state championship). This is the fifth year in a row that the Pirateer has ranked as one of the top three 4A newspapers in the state.
Individual awards: 1st place-graduate Rebecca Howard, graduates Zach Grunder and Andrew Jenkins, Grace Shearrer; 2nd place-Pirateer Staff, graduate Sarah Hyman, Rebecca Howard, Megan Scholz; 3rd Place-Zach Grunder, Rebecca Howard, Mike Kloewer, Atachara Phanpaktra, Kelsey Ransick, Grace Shearrer; Honorable Mention-Amy Nordyke Samantha Simmons.
- $500 Scholarship and 1st place award to Kelli Mowrey, Colorado-Wyoming Organ Donor Foundation Journalism Challenge for her February front page story "3 Lifesavers: How Could I Not Do It?"
- $3,000 Scholarship and 2nd place award to Krista Niederjohn, STEPP Youth Tobacco Advocate Scholarship program for her story in the December Pirateer, "A Week in the Life of a Quitter".
